What are the best MAC cosmetics to buy if you have never bought any of their products before?

i want to start a whole new makeup collection and wanted to know what MAC cosmetics are an absolute neccessity to purchase to have a solid good quality collection .

As far as MAC goes, these are my essentials:





Eyeshadow-Goldmine, Crystal Avalanche, Sushi Flower, Stars 'n Rockets, Aquadisiac...those are mine, but a lot of people love Shroom and Carbon and so forth. It depends on what colours you like.





Mascara-I haven't used any of their mascaras, my favourite is actually Avon's Uplifting mascara.





Eyeliner-Again something else I have not used, but the Technakohls have rave reviews.





Cheeks-All my favourite cheek products were limited edition-the Lune blushcreme and the Alpha Girl beauty powder. If any of the stores have the Beauty Powder blushes still, it would be worth your time to check those out. Also I love the Belightful iridescent pressed powder.





Lips-Get a couple different shades of the lipstick and then a lipglass or two. All my favourites are limited edition ones though. Also if you like glittery things, get a Dazzleglass while you can (Ms. Fizz and Glamour OD are amazing).





During the holiday season, and at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, they do have brush sets, and it is good to buy one of those as they are fairly reasonably priced.





If you live near a CCO (Cosmetics Company Outlet, also known as Cosmetics Company Store), you can pick up items from old limited-edition collections for 30% off the retail...and if you are lucky, you can find one of my favourite products: Helium pigment. It's a light pink with red pearl and is great all over the face. Other good pigments to try are Jardin Aires and Vanilla because they can be used all over: blush/bronzer, highlighter, mix with lipgloss, eyeshadow, you name it.What are the best MAC cosmetics to buy if you have never bought any of their products before?

My favorite shadows are Shroom (nice highlight), Copperplate (matte medium grey), Charcoal Brown (matte medium brown). Popular choices are Vanilla, Carbon, Gleam, Knight Divine, and Woodwinked.





I don't care for MAC lipsticks at all. They have a vanilla scent (that I hear is being phased out), and don't last long on the lip. The Lipglasses, however, are wonderful. I love Viva Glam in V and VI. All Viva Glam lip products help benefit AIDs research and prevention funding.
I definatley love the MAC Lipglass. It stays on for a long time and doesnt smear. The MAC, eyeshadow is amazing also, it comes in crazy %26amp; calm colors. Good Luck!
